So the usual thing about deadlines is that yes, they are stressful, but then it is over and you are done and you can move on and do something else with your life and not waste more energy fretting about whatever asses have been left halved in your wake.

Things don't seem to work that way any more two years into covid.

I am still going to mostly wash my hands of it, though; it's been making my life miserable for long enough already. Ugh. Tell me something fun about your life recently instead!

Ugh, that does sound miserable, I am sorry!

Something fun over here: I am in California! yesterday I was at the beach and saw sea lions, and two days ago I went out on a whaleboat and saw a blue whale!

Random fun thing I've been doing recently: taking Chinese watercolor brush painting classes! I'd been meaning to try getting back into calligraphy anyway, but then a friend mentioned she was taking an online class and asked if anyone wanted to join her, and I figured, why not? It uses some of the same kinds of brushes and paper as calligraphy, so even though I'd only really done a tiny bit of art like this before (and really, not all that much calligraphy either, and it was so long ago) it felt at least a little familiar. It's been fun learning something so completely unlike the usual other things I do these days!
